ABOUT US!
The Maryland Senior Olympics is a non-profit organization for proactive residents aged 50 and above. Since 1980, the State games have provided great competition and camaraderie for mature adults as many have advanced to the National Senior Games and returned as U.S. champions.

Camaraderie is just as important as competition at the Maryland Senior Olympics.Beginning in 2008, the games have a new direction—literally, a passing of the torch. Montgomery County has proudly accepted the opportunity and challenge of administering the State games. Ted Wroth, retired from the County's Recreation Department, is the new executive director.

There will be some changes; hopefully you will like what we're planning. But don't worry, most all of your favorite events will continue with the likelihood of new sports added to the lineup.

As you can see, there's also a new website and a new look for our organization. The website is a work in progress and we ask for your patience as we transfer and update files from the old site, and add new features. We eventually plan for some interactive content and a larger online presence, all for your enjoyment, participation and convenience. Certainly, we welcome your suggestions.

Meanwhile, we encourage your input and advice toward the future of the organization. The Maryland Senior Olympics are your games. We want to hear from you. If you have suggestions, wish to volunteer, have photos or content to contribute to the website, or just want to say hello, please give us a shout.

We're very excited about the immediate future of the Maryland Senior Olympics. Please share that enthusiasm with us!
